Megan Roberts, President

Megan’s love for the outdoors began as a Venturing Scout, where she earned her Ranger, Bronze, and Silver awards (the highest awards available to female members of Scouts BSA at the time). Megan is now the leader of Girl Scout Troop 40170 and also serves as the Treasurer and Communications Director of Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA Service Unit 416 (State College Area).

Megan holds bachelors degrees in computer science and mathematics as well as a masters degree in information science and technology with an emphasis on cybersecurity and information assurance. She currently works as a software engineering lead.

Heather Higgins, Secretary

Heather spent over a decade as a Girl Scout. She is currently an Assistant Scoutmaster with Scouts BSA Troop 375 and has over a decade of service with Scouts BSA.  Heather works as a Special Education Paraprofessional, helping elementary students with disabilities.

Joan Geleskie

Joan is a Red Cross certified trainer and leads the outdoor training initiative. A lifelong Girl Scout, Joan teaches canoeing, kayaking, lifeguarding, and wilderness first aid for various initiatives. Joan is a Licensed Training Provider with the American Red Cross and an American Canoe Association certified canoeing instructor. Her passion is sharing her love of paddling and helping scouts get the training they need to be successful on their outdoor adventures.

David Nicastro

David has been involved in scouting and the outdoors since he was a child. He is currently an assistant leader with Girl Scout Troop 40170, a den leader with a Cub Scout Pack, and Chair of the Altoona-Johnstown Committee on Catholic Scouting. He has worked for over 20 years for Penn State University Libraries and believes that knowledge, from books or the outdoors, should be accessible to everyone.
