Paddle Safety Facilitator
Certification: American Canoe Association Paddle Safety Facilitator.
A Paddle Safety Facilitator is trained to do pre-paddling safety training. The facilitator goes over everything from how to plan a trip, what to pack, and how to respond if the unforeseen happens.
The American Canoe Association Paddlesports Safety Facilitator (PSF) certification program teaches basic safety and paddling knowledge, as well as simple rescue skills for canoe, kayak, and SUP. The training for this certification includes a base knowledge module (non-craft specific) plus three complementary modules that focus specifically on canoeing, kayaking, and stand up paddling (SUP). This certification allows the facilitator to introduce paddle craft safety and knowledge to the beginner paddler in a land-based setting.
Canoeing, kayaking, and stand-up-paddle-boarding (SUP) are fun for all age groups. Depending on your group’s needs and interests, we can lead your group through an hour-long program, an afternoon program, a full day program, or an overnight program.
We will start with on-land boating safety instruction before moving onto the water to learn the basics of handling the watercraft. Our paddling instructors are American Canoe Association certified instructors and will help you pick a local body of water that is appropriate for your group’s ability.
Throughout the summer, we will offer scheduled courses; however, we are happy to schedule private functions for your group. Rates will depend on the size of your group and the complexity of the event. Contact us for details.
