Confident Camper Foundation will be running an American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Certification Course March 15-17 at Camp Anderson.

Designed for scouts and scout leaders, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments, this course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away. Based on the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, this course aligns with OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs.

Prerequisites for Wilderness First Aid training include:

  • Students must possess a current CPR/AED certification
  • Students must be at least 14 years old by the last day of class*

Participants will camp overnight at Camp Anderson and should pack as if they were going on a 2 night backpacking trip. Camping is in tents around the Camp Anderson Dining Hall with limited space in the dining hall.

*Minors should be accompanied by a responsible adult to stay overnight

The cost for this course is $85 for WFA only or $125 for both WFA and CPR/AED. Meals are not included.

CPR certification will be run Friday evening with WFA beginning Saturday morning. WFA only participants are not required to be present for the CPR certification part of the course.

Discounted early registration ($75 for WFA only or $100 for WFA + CPR) for CCF Members is available until Feb 8. Members must be logged in to register during early registration.

Regular registration will run from Feb 8 until March 8.
