Confident Camper Foundation will be running an American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Certification Course August 22 – 24 at Discovery Space.
Designed for scouts and scout leaders, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments, this course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away. Based on the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, this course aligns with OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs.
Prerequisites for Wilderness First Aid training include:
- Students must possess a current CPR/AED certification
- Students must be at least 14 years old by the last day of class
The cost for this course is $125 and includes both WFA and CPR certification.
The course will run:
- Friday, 8/22 5:30-8:30
- Saturday, 8/23 10-5
- Sunday 8/24 from 10-5
