Youth in grades 6-12 are invited to join us at the Boalsburg Fire Company to get an in depth introduction to basic first aid skills. Members of the Boalsburg Fire Company will join us for part of the day (barring an emergency) to provide demonstrations and give a brief talk.

This program will cover

• Triage
• Shock and stroke
• Head, neck, and spinal injuries
• Prevention of outdoor injuries
• First aid kits
• Basic first aid
• Bone and joint injuries
• Weather emergencies
• How move a victim
• CPR/AED
• And more

Scouts BSA Scouts will earn their First Aid Merit Badge. Please bring a Blue Card signed by your Unit Leader. The instructors for this course are Juniata Valley Council approved Merit Badge Counselors for the First Aid Merit Badge.

Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors will complete requirements for the First Aid badge for their level (badge not provided).

Cost for this event is $14 per participating youth if registered prior to Sep 3rd and $18 for late registrations.

Attendees will need to bring a bagged lunch,  water bottle, and any snacks they will need throughout the day.

Advanced registration is required and all youth must be accompanied by a responsible adult (either parent or troop leadership). If you need to be put in contact with a troop from your organization that is attending, please contact us.

Registration is limited to 20 youth.
